Wethersfield Library offers a number of free and reduced cost admission passes to various museums. These passes may be checked out using your library card just like any other library item and some can be downloaded and printed at home. Visit the library website or the information desk at the library to view complete list of museums and make reservations. Free passes include (subject to change): Connecticut Trolley Museum, Discovery Museum and Planetarium, Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, Florence Griswold Museum, Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, Hill-Stead Museum, Lutz Children’s Museum, Lyman Allyn Art Museum, New Britain Museum of American Art, New Haven Museum, State Parks and Forests (includes Dinosaur and Gillette’s Castle), Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Wadsworth Atheneum, Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum

The NBMAA’s Nurture Through Art: Infant to Teen programs enhance children’s appreciation of art through various interactive projects, therefore fostering intellectual growth and promoting self-confidence and emotional expression. Click on link above to view classes and contact information for sign up. Children under 12 admitted to museum free. Saturday admission from 10 a.m. to noon is free for entire family. 

Wadsworth Atheneum – Second Saturdays for Families

Arrive between 10 am and 1 pm on the second Saturday of each month and enjoy free admission for the day. Family Tours of collection and fun family activities and crafts featured each month. Visitors with strollers are encouraged to use the ramp at the Main Street entrance. Check at the Information Desk about elevators and ramps and easing your movement around the museum.
