Wethersfield Parent Cabinet And Ambassadors
Wethersfield’s Ivoni Montes is one of 15 Connecticut Office of Early Childhood Parent Cabinet members throughout the state.
Ivoni meets regularly with Wethersfield Parent Ambassadors Maria Vazquez and Jamain Naidoo, and other ambassadors in our region, to share the concerns of parents and caregivers with state leaders and policymakers.
Ivoni Montes works for the YMCA Family Learning of Wethersfield as a Teacher’s Assistant.
Ivoni is a native from Peru where she worked as a police officer for several years until moving to the United States in 2005.
She has children at Webb Elementary and Wethersfield High School.

Jamain Naidoo is a parent volunteer for WECC and a member of the steering committee. Her expertise in social media, marketing, project management and event planning is invaluable to WECC and her sons' elementary school PTO.
Among her many projects, Jamain is the owner of Artful Soul CT.
Jamain is most proud of being a mom to her two young boys and advocating for families in town and the state of CT.
Maria Vasquez moved to Wethersfield from Lima, Peru.
She is a participant in Yale's Early Childhood Parent Leaders RULER program through the Center for Emotional Intelligence.
Maria also is involved in the Crianza Con Cariño (Loving Parent) program at Family Life Education Inc and was a leader in the ESL Family Learning program in Wethersfield.
As a parent ambassador, Maria says she hopes to focus on inclusion of the many cultures in our community. She lives in Wethersfield with her husband and two children.
