Whether it’s a quiet stroll on a nature trail, participating in a program, playing softball under the lights or hosting a family event at the historic 1774 Solomon Welles House, Wethersfield has something to offer for everyone. There are 644 acres of parkland with unique areas such as Wintergreen Woods, Wethersfield Cove and the 1860 Reservoir, where open space, wooded areas and natural ponds make Wethersfield a beautiful and special place to live.

RECREATION SPOTLIGHT: Pitkin and Mill Woods

PITKIN

William J. Pitkin Recreation
Complex 30, Greenfield Street

20.67 acres. Within the complex are the Pitkin Community Center, Willard Pool, a basketball court, little league field and a playscape.

Located within the Pitkin Recreation Complex, the 34,000 square foot building has a banquet room, fitness room, gymnasium, preschool room, meeting and function rooms. The Pitkin Community Center is available for receptions, parties, meetings and houses the 9/11 Sports Center, Senior Citizen Center and the Community TV Studio.

9/11 Memorial Sports Center

Located in the Pitkin Community Center, this facility includes a gym, fitness room and a meeting room.

Willard Pool

MILL WOODS

Mill Woods Park

122.16 acres containing Loretta’s Dream – a new picnic pavilion, walking paths, playground, lighted little league Stadium, little league fields, skate park, a lighted softball field, softball fields, a basketball court, beach and outdoor swimming pond, picnic areas, an off-leash dog park, bocce courts, a playscape, soccer fields, lighted tennis courts, fishing pond and walking trails.

Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center

Pine Acres Swim & Tennis Club
