The CREC Head Start and Early Head Start Program serves children based on need and eligibility according to the federal Head Start guidelines. Head Start programs serve children ages birth to five from low-income families, promote school readiness and support children’s growth and development of the whole child, in a positive learning environment. Comprehensive services include:
Early Learning: Children progress in social skills and emotional well-being, along with language and literacy learning, and concept development
Health: All children receive health and development screenings, nutritious meals, oral health and mental health support. Programs connect families with medical, dental, and mental health services to ensure that children are receiving the services they need.
Family Well-Being: Programs support and strengthen parent-child relationships and engage families around children’s learning and development.
Enrolling in CREC Head Start does not provide you direct enrollment into a CREC Magnet School.
