Col. John Chester Fife & Drum Corps
The Colonel John Chester Fife and Drum Corps is Connecticut’s oldest junior ancient fife and drum corps. The corps was organized in 1940 and has won numerous awards in both parades and competitions over the years. To be a member of Col. John Chester you must be at least 8 years old and you may remain a member until you are 21. Membership in the Corps is not limited to Wethersfield residents. Current members come from all over Connecticut.

The Connecticut Academy of Irish Music offers group instruction in traditional Irish music to children and adults on a variety of instruments (fiddle, tin whistle, flute, mandolin, banjo, guitar, button accordion, and bodhran), as well as singing and mixed instrument classes
Dance 10

Dance 10 was founded in 1986 with the hopes and dreams of creating a studio that not only taught proper dance training and technique but helped to create strong, confident young people. Beginner dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop offered for children starting at age 3.
Griffith Academy of Dance

The Griffith Academy, founded in 1954, is one of the nation’s top Irish dancing schools with a long tradition building community and character through the art of dance. In addition to Irish, the school offers classes in ballet, tap, and jazz to all levels ages 3 to adult. Boy’s class available.

Teachers lead groups of six to twelve children and their parents or caregivers in forty-five minutes of music and movement experiences. Each class offers a dozen songs and rhythmic rhymes, including fingerplays, small and large-movement activities, and instrument play. Ages newborn and up.
